Body work can be defined several ways. I'm using the term to mean massage and other therapies that promote relaxation, comfort and health. I've trained in many healing modalities in order to be able to offer a custom experience for each client.
Body work can mean massage, but also encompasses energy work (reiki, Reconnective Healing), aromatherapy and therapies that affect other body systems, like positional release, acupressure, breathing techniques, visualization, hypnomassage or cranio sacral therapy. Any activity which involves touch, energetic stimulation or the application of pressure or vibration to tissues of the body, including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and joints, also may be termed bodywork.
In a looser sense... bodywork means "work on this body, please." That can mean you just want to feel better, or more relaxed, or in less pain. You might be looking for a facial massage, an aromatherapy experience... or just an escape from the daily "rumble." You tell me what you think your body needs and we can discuss designing a plan for you.
Other types of bodywork which I don't offer but are very interesting to explore include yoga and techniques involving voice, movement or dance.
